Does America Understand the Outcome? Part II

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."    John Adams: Address to the Military, October 11, 1798
America has become a nation of avarice, ambition, revenge and gallantry.  She has defected from her once sacred and solid position of standing on moral high ground.   Economic America, political America, social America, and even religious America has been polluted by the conditions John Adams warned of.  This condition was also warned/prophesied of in Scripture:

2Thessalonians 2:3  "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

The term, "a falling away" can be interpreted in roughly 3 ways.  The one most striking to me with regard to it's application to my world today is "a defection".  There was once a commonly understood moral foundation in and under this nation.  It's my belief that prosperity and the laziness and assumed self-importance prosperity produces was part of the erosion of that foundation.  Having and maintaining a moral stand is difficult in the best of circumstances and when the test of one's mettle comes, morals will either be the rock against which one's life is anchored or they will be abandoned for the "easy way out".  America has defected; she has abandoned the solid foundation upon which she rested for so long.

We are now governed by those who unashamedly display their disdain for any moral objectivity and rule over us accordingly.  "We", on the other hand make no demand of any kind of standard of any of our despotic governors.  "We" have for a very long time have discharged the governing of ourselves to those whom we believe "have a knack for it".  "We" too have defected from our morality by shirking our national and personal duty to maintain the careful vigil over our Divinely Appointed governance.  Freedom requires perpetual vigilance.
"Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouraged by the Government. For no people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders."          Samuel Adams: Letter to James Warren, November 4, 1775
We all realize what the public indoctrination system has done and continues to do to our posterity.  We all now know how deeply the statist control of our Nation's basic unit - the family - actually goes.
"The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.... How is it possible that Children can have any just Sense of the sacred Obligations of Morality or Religion if, from their earliest Infancy, they learn their Mothers live in habitual Infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in as constant Infidelity to their Mothers?"       John Adams: Diary, June 2, 1778
Do we understand that any stand taken without moral underpinnings will achieve absolutely nothing at best and at worst, serve only to further enslave activist and passivist alike?  Unless and until we, as a people, make every proper effort to restore the foundation of our Heritage, that very Heritage which we strive to recover and restore will continue to be eroded and washed away by the now cascading torrent of amoral depostism.  This is a fight for the spiritual life of our Nation as well as for it's well-framed principles.

Do we understand the outcome if this level of the battle for America is not engaged along with the others?
